GSPs are great, I have Vizslas... they're very similar dogs, love them.

 

We have had two GSP and a Wiem. Wife already has the name picked out for our eventual Vizsla.

 

whats the name for the Vizsla? I had my dogs name picked out for a loong time before I even knew what a Vizsla was... So when we got him his name was automatically Ullr.

Priorities have shifted as of late......

 

So Vizslas are good at riding in trucks, and GSP are good at lounging by the pool.

The question is can they hunt?

I can't tell through the internet if you're serious or not, but yes GSPs and Vizslas are hunting dogs. Mine aren't trained for it, since I don't hunt myself lol

Just poking fun at different breeds.

I have seen some Vizslas that were pretty good in the field, but most don't range big enough for the areas I hunt.

I've heard rumors of GSP that are good in the field, but have yet to actually see on in person. Every GSP I have seen was borderline out of control, appeared brainless, and seemed like it could use a good dose of Ridilin.

I've hunted partridge and woodcock over a couple expertly trained gsp's and they were phenomenal. Once you were done hunting though, yes they were bonkers but a lot of fun to have around.

I also know of a couple people who train and use them for bear hunting, and they swear by them. I haven't done it personally, I prefer to sit over bait for bear.

 

Yeah, my parents have a gsp and she can be off the walls but the few I have seen that were well trained from the outlet were next level workers and on point

 

How the HECK do you pronounce that name?
