    Damn most birds that are edible I shoot, pluck and eat them depending on the bird. Preferably basted in butter, I can work with this depending on free time and bird participating LOL. When I say that i'm headed to the river (Mississippi) and shoot eagles people freak out.

    4 days ago off my deck shot these guys. Must be getting old not long ago would have harvested at least one of them.

    Didn't get a toilet bowl shot in last week challenge....

    Doesn't count for this week but see what happens. Dark meat, thread the arrow..

    Went to the river yesterday looking to shoot eagles and never saw a single one, or much else which is strange. Nothing moving South yet and the teal here have long since moved through.

    The chickadee is my BFF, so became the next target today. Used flash for fill and starting out was testing settings and started off high at 1/180 and f/14 and he moved on me. Not a great picture but pretty sure this is my first chickadee BIF pic LOL so throwing it out there more as a first than a best job done. I use flash for freezing hummers so guess no reason not to use them for other birds.

    Nice shot i like the silhouette of the birds against the moody background!

    What kinda flash setup do you have? If you can move it away form the lens a little via a flash bracket it will help eliminate the steel eye.
