I am surprised to not see more.. this was a fun one. I picked this as my favorite though.... too bad it was snowing.

This is a fun one and one entry shouldn't win.

 

Shot this a week ago of a departing B-1 at Nellis. Shot @ 1/125 which I would never do with a large zoom and it was at about 300mm. ISO was at 3200 which was relatively low considering the only light came from the burners.

 

Been busy moving/organizing or else I'd have one in. If we're extending I might have one in a day or so.

 

that is a real cool shot.

 

We will keep it going for another week. Let's see what everyone can come up with!

 

I have a prime 300, normally use a 1.4x TC with it for 420mm. Even without the TC I would almost never go below 1/500, 1/320 would be the lowest for motion shots. Which is difficult considering the reduced daylight this far North much of the year. And it is the lens I use the most, for wildlife, BIF, etc. You nailed it and panned perfectly. Extremely well done IMO!

It does give me inspiration for an idea that haven't done since the film days of the early 80's with the Cannon AE-1 at the San Diego airport and vibrations off the hood of the FJ55 from the aircraft taking off and landing. Wasted a lot of film back then to get a few good shots. Now, hmmm..... Hmmm is right not sure that they will let me get close enough. But want to try it.

I just stumbled across this thread. Do you just post a photo for the weekly prompt (in this case, breaking the rules) in the thread?

 

yes. you can either post via the upload section (full size) or like i do using flikr as a medium. make sure to post by sunday midnight your local time and follow the rules. you will be informed if you didn't meet the rules but so far I haven't seen anyone not meet it

Keep them coming. The purpose of this challenge is to get you thinking outside the typical confines that we shoot in and take some chances. With digital cameras and instant feedback we can make adjustments and push the so called "rules" to end up with some great images.
