Go to Home Depot or Lowes and get some tube sand. It's cheap.... 3 tubes = 210lbs. I've been running the same 3 tubes of sand for 8 years in 3 different trucks I've owned.

I did tube sand in my 94 Suburban, 93 LegacyWagon, and my 82 Rabbit Pickup. 3 tubes and go...

Worked the best in the Suburban. Suprisingly, they have a fairly light rear end.

I am going to be getting a bedmat next week (maybe today) and I am going to build a 2x4 rack to hold the bags in place. That should give me the extra traction I need to make up for my Dunflop tires.

Here's another idea in the cheapskate category. What about watching craigslist for someone to get rid of a waterbed cheap (or free)?

I use to drink Bud lite but its not good, and i'm not a huge fan of coors. Miller lite is probably one of the best (i use that term lightly) domestic lite beers. gdawg, i have had more than my fair share of Natty lite and it is really hard to drink unless you chug it ice cold. tacomaman has the right idea, Coronas are good. I also like Bud diesel (normal budweiser for those not familiar with beer terms). If i'm drinking to get drunk then i drink miller lite. If im drinking cause its good i usually get something expensive, harps, guiness, hobgoblin etc....

I prefer Corona with lime or Honey Weiss with an orange slice. I know...I know...this violates a man rule. Tough! I like it... :D

lime is essential for Corona. Although i have never heard of honey weiss. I have had blue moon (which i dont like) and its served with an orange slice. I dont think it violates man rule as long as its still beer. Honey weiss sounds good though...

My favorite beer is Hoegaarden. It's an unfiltered, white beer, brewed in Belgium. If you see it, get it! And to you other Canadian's, Rickard's White is an unreal beer, similar to Hoegaarden.

In greenville we have a place called Eidlewies (not sure how to spell it) but german food is awesome!!! It will kill you in an instant but its damn good! I think the most popular german wheat beer is heife weisen (not sure hot to spell that either) but it has a picture of a monk on the front. Personally i dont like wheat beer too much

I love anything made by Wychwood brewery and one of my favorite beers is called Duck Rabbit. Duck Rabbit is a damn good beer! I think it may be from NC but i'm not sure. i seem to remember hearing that somewhere...

Yuengling, gotta love it, America's oldest brewery, and a native of PA.

YES! Shiner Bock is the good stuff. Belgian-style, brewed in Texas. I'm surprised you're familiar with it considering your location. Is it a coincidence that you have good taste but are not a member of the alliance? I think not.

Why not just pack the bed with snow pack? Thats what we did back in the day.... when the thaw comes no worry about cleanup or unloading a bladder!

It's sand inside a plastic tarp material in the shape of a tube.

It's pretty durable - and after 7 years, I've got a little bit of duct tape in places due to little holes.

Depending on the truck you have and the bed material - the tubes can/will slide around and mostly up towards the cab. If it bothers you - you can ratchet strap it in to prevent it from moving. This year - in my new tacoma - I put a bedmat in that seems really 'sticky'. It was pretty hard sliding them into position (over the axle), so I'm hoping that means they'll stay in place.
