Ok so i saw a few but were mostly in 1st Gen forum and didnt know if that made a difference.. so here goes..

this is my first prerunner and i live in the North GA mountains and work in the NC mountains, they are calling for a good bit of snow this year, so i need some help please

Im getting new tires next week, General Grabbers AT2

i have a diamondback cover on my truck which the website states is about 125lbs... How much more weight do people suggest i add to the bed in front of the rear axle.. maybe 100ish or ???

I dont have LSD or anything fancy (broke paramedics cant afford things like that :) lol)

I think it's more important to have the right tires...i.e. something with soft compound and lots of siping. For example, a set of MTs or KM2s will do great in y'all's southern mud, but won't do nearly as well in the snow as an AT, all season tire. I can't imagine that adding anything in addition to your heavy camper will make much of a difference...???

I realize money's tight, I didn't mean to suggest going out and buying new tires! :D But it is what it is!

I have the same tires as the Op. I have been running them now which I'm on my third winter. I don't have anything in the bed of my truck.

For me they work fine, never had any complaints. I live in a really flat part of Canada though. On ice isn't doesn't matter what kind of tires you have. In the snow, never had an issue. But if you are stuck, 4wd will be a big help(stop sign, lighted intersections etc). In the end it's all going to come down to how you drive.
