Almost Daily over 350lbs in the 4CYL, That consits of timberframing tools, 150-300lbs of hand tools, (hand saws, planes, and chisels), 2 saw horses each saw horse is about 80lbs each, prob about 150lbs in skill saws, about 100 lbs in Impact Guns and bits, 100 lbs for the chainsaws, about 200-300 in hardware (screws, nails, etc). And extra body in riding shot gun, and then If Im putting tools into our 2 greenlees then thats and extra 100 lbs or so, then I might be carryin a few struts or knee braces which could weigh upwards of 50 lbs a timber. I put around 15000-20000 of my 35000 yearly driving mile in whith loads like these, all of a sudden Im really proud of my 4 Cylinder!

not really the box is 6 feet greenlees about 2 1/2' wide so I can put all the tools and hardware in there, leaves a bit of room at front for pouches and and bags, and a couple tools boxes holding the hand tools, althogh if I use the green lees I cant hold saw horses, well unless I strapped them to the top of the greenlees! I will take a picture there isnt an unsed space, and the green lees are like 3 feet tall so you can stack a lot of stuff, like 2-3 chainsaws, 3 impact guns, 4-5 boxes of nails and screws, 1 corded drill, two cordless drills, and then a variety of other tools, I mean like when I was doing renovations I used to have table saw, chop saw, hand tools, air compressor, nailers, a fold out table, table for chop saw, ladders, hardware, and then still had room to grab a few sheets of drywall or sheathing, or some lumber!

what difference does 50 lbs make? I usually keep just 50 lbs in gear, then another hundred+ in tools.

.5o cal machine gun, 6 of my closest friends with their ak 47's, 300 kilos of black tar heroin, a french correspondant as a hostage and some rice from the United Nations. I am a Somali warlord and thats how I roll. A little Bob Marley on the cassette deck and we are good. This is the best bullet riddled Taco in all of Somalia.

The mileage is bad, but gas is free when you have a bed mounted machine gun.

Some people make a habit of carrying around a tool chest loaded with tools, recovery gear, air compressor, jacks, etc... I've also seen people with camper shells with fancy platforms and pull out drawers. I'm sure that's a lot of weight.

^And those would be things that they use (read as: HAVE TO carry in their bed). Nobody in their right mind would carry things in their bed for no reason.

i regularly fill it with either SAND toys or WATER toyss.. the SAND toys include a full size quad and all the gear and toll boxes - easily over 400lbs with no problem. prob can do more -- its not how heavy you have to worry about - its how much can i carry. Hint ! get the LongBed if you can or if you plan on carrying anything big.. its a lifesaver !

    It is a truck!!!!!

If you are worried about MPG, you should have bought a CAR !!
