I've managed to get the fiancee fairly hooked on remote camping and we've discussed moving toward a ute flatbed+canopy setup... anyone know the weight of the removed 5' box so I can get an idea where my weight would be building something like this?

There are a bunch of separate parts (bed box, bed sides, rails, possibly bumper). Call a dealer and ask them the weight of each part.
