Weird Bell Tone 2014 OR

Hey guys. I dont know what this is related to so not sure what sub is best. But I need some help. I always hear a strange bell like tone whenever i first start driving. Usually its in the first half mile or mile it goes off, and at the same time i can hear something mechanical shift. I was thinking it was related to the a/c but not really sure. When the bell tone happens the radio volume drops. Yesterday instead of doing it the usual one time, it kept doing it over and over for about 10 miles. Made trying to listen to music very frustrating.

I am sure there is a few threads about this probably but i dont even know what to search for. I have an aftermarket Kenwood with a maestro if that makes any difference.

Its a single tone and a little more muted sounding. No lights illuminate when it happens.

Do u have something heavy on ur passenger seat that could be triggering the seat belt reminder or something jammed under ur seats doing the same, its a stretch cause I would think it would give u an illumination icon also ?

 

No, I do not. The tone is not as loud as the door tone or the fasten seatbelt tone. It 's hard to pinpoint the source, but my stereo drops in volume at the same time. The tone itself comes and goes very fast, but I always get the impression its coming from the center dash area. It happens whether I am listening to music or not. At first I thought it was google maps turn directions coming through, but it happens whether i am using gps or not.

 

Have you checked for trouble codes on your ECU yet? Might give you an idea if something's off

 

Shot in the dark but u could try a reset of ur radio ?

 

Now you got me wanting to know. So if it comes across the radio , it seems like it is a blue tooth connected device ? Do u have any devices paired with ur radio, ear buds, cell phone, obd port devices.....?

 

Could it be the little boop that it does after you shift in to drive and it “self clicks the caution warning”?

 

I cant say the tone come from the radio, but maybe it does. But there is some mechanical type noise like some kind of actuator is cycling. I thought it was one of the blend door servos for the a/c but i cant pinpoint it. Maybe i should pull the glove box and have someone else drive. The thing is most of the time it only happens once. And the bell sound could actually be something metal making the single ‘ding’ as its so faint and comes and goes so quickly. The volume drop of the radio is the big give away that its part of a process as far as I can tell. I should turn off Bluetooth and see what happens.
