When I did my mc, after bleeding, it didn’t feel right. So I bled it again very thoroughly. All good since.

If you have skill enough to get that ridiculous location master cylinder installed, then you’ll get it figured out. I would suggest you go in with oem, not wanting to do it a second time with a better one, then again with the oem.

Others may do it differently but, when I bench bleed a mc, I leave the little brake line caps in place. After hooking up to the reservoir, pump once, press my fingers on the caps, release the pedal. Repeat until the fluid is oozing out with no air bubbles. Then hook up the brake lines and bleed at the wheels. I used to not bench bleed but doing it makes the at the wheels time much shorter.

I tried to be neat about it but sill got brake fluid all over the carpet. It dribbled all on my hands down my arm dripping off my elbow.

It could still need a (better) bench bleed, or a proper bleed of the ABS unit.

The MC could have a bad seal

If the abs module had a valve problem it would surely code

These are pretty much my exact thoughts. My current plan of action is MC -> proper abs bleed -> replace abs module. I'm hoping the issue is resolved before having to spend money on a new abs module.
I will get back to work on it on Thursday or Friday and see how it goes.

As a side note, I'm really appreciating all of the input. It's definitely giving me good insight. I'll keep this thread updated until the issue is resolved.

Ok, so I'm concluding this thread since I just replaced the master cylinder and the brakes seem normal now. Hard for me to think that there was an issue with the previous brand new master cylinder I bought but I think I most likely didn't bench bleed correctly which might have damaged it. In any case, I took my time and did a proper bench bleed and installed the new new master cylinder and now she's perfect again!!

    Thanks for the help!
