I can’t remember when I first started chasing critters in the woods. I got a fiberglass bow at 10, and I used to chase deer with it in the wood lots adjacent to our apartment in suburban D.C. I’ve been practicing and hunting with a bow for over 45 years. I shoot broadheads year-round with a beat up set of the same heads I hunt with. There’s a significant time investment in swapping out blades and getting them out of the target. The whole time thinking about being out there waiting on the big one. I still get buck fever after all these years.

So when I pick one of these up, I can’t help but think of the last human hand that touched them. Maybe a thousand years ago. They, working on them and as excited about hunting as I get. Gives me chills!

1958 Chev in the price leader, bottom of the line Del Ray trim, the last year for this model name.

With minimal trim & rubber floor mat this model was popular with fleet buyers like taxi & police departments, if you watch TV/movies from this era they are often seen in these roles.

Seeing as the original owner paid for the optional two tone paint job in #936 Snowcrest White over #903 Glen Green this wasn't a fleet car - just bought by an economy minded person. ;);)

Great info . I always wonder what the story is behind these vehicles found back in the woods . My uncle used to own the local golf course a few miles from my house and there was a car in the woods off the 13th fairway that looked like a Bonnie and Clyde era car . Plus it was full of bullet holes . Hunters and target practice I presume . There was a hunting / game preserve bordering the golf course . Wish I had a picture of that car . It was back in the 80s when I used to see it .

Several years ago while upland bird hunting up in Northern Maine (I was in the woods with my dogs) I heard a loud commotion off in the distance, with crashing sounds. It lasted about 15-20 minutes. It was two Bull Moose fighting. I didn't make my way to the area immediately (for safety reasons). I waited about an hour. I worked my way out to a logging road and the road was all torn up, probably a 30' stretch. I found this brow tine laying in the road. Hard to imagine the force to break one of these off.

Found someone's abandoned camp site in remote central Nevada. Even found a well faded but intact Patagonia backpack and tent that was taken down, when I first arrived upon this I thought I was going to come across body remains. Someone was in a hurry when they left, makes you wonder. There is a small waterfall next to the site that also had a ladder setup near it, with a much older wooden ladder behind it.

Where does the ladder go to? And I'd be wondering about a body too...
