It's interesting to me how places like this can stand the test of time, but modern stuff crumbles in a couple years.

One day I "happened" upon a naked girl laying beside a lake on a blanket, next to a cooler surrounded by some empty beer cans.

I was the superintendent at a golf course and had hired a student at IU to work over the summer between semesters. We ended up getting along very well. One Saturday morning she stated she was going up to her parents property where they were building a home. Invited me to come along. I stated I would try but couldn't promise. Was held up at work and almost didn't go, but at the last minute decided to, so I got up there late. Walked up the lane to the lake, found her laying there. She said she had gave up on me and decided to tan. She wasn't embarrassed in the least little bit, God bless her soul.

Sorry, but this was probably 91 or 92, back before everyone had a camera in their pocket.

It's funny that you posted that. There is more to the story. We sat there talking a while and she finally told me she had a serious boyfriend back at school. That when she went back that fall for her senior year he was going to propose to her. She said one night during a conversation it came up that they were never going to have sex with another person for the rest of their lives. Out of that conversation came a decision that they were going to go their separate ways over summer break, and when they got back to school they would not ask one another what they did over the summer, meaning they could sow their wild oats, so to speak, before getting married. So she then said to me, "the reason I invited you up here was to ask you if you'd like to spend the rest of the summer having sex with me". And so started one of the best summers of my life.

So are you guys sure I'm making this up? Or are you hoping I'm making it up? And are you projecting? Do you know what that means?

She broke up with that boyfriend and married a marine. They moved to where a international company had headquarters where their COO of North American operations was situated and she went to work for the company. She divorced the marine and married the COO. They then moved to Switzerland where the company operated out of and he became CEO. He only lasted a year or two then left. Always wondered why. She had diabetes and about the time he left Covid hit. So maybe to protect her?

Sometimes shit just falls into your lap. I do miss her. She was just fun to be around. Didn't surprise me she landed that whale. Knew what she wanted and had the means to get it. I wish we had kept in touch.
