I’m still trying to figure out what his post has to do with finding stuff in the woods.

Law enforcement questions about that stuff you found in the woods I assume. Or your trip to/from the woods.

Not sure how that came into the conversation as I don’t believe anyone mentioned anything remotely close to it. Meh, whatever.

I think your tinfoil hat is on a little too tight. theres a difference between pulling some old obviously trash from decades ago and an open container of beer. If thats even what you are eluding to.

I like to wave like a maniac on my motorcycle when I pass an officer. Not in an "I'm trying to get your attention" manner just like HI! I get some fun looks from the people in cars around me.

Found a few cow skeletons out in the back country here, freaked me out the first time seeing one when i was a little kid

Not as common in the desert but like most places areas where water might be found are frequented by different types of animals-predator and prey.

I am a forester, so safe to say I have found a few things although most of the time I don't have a camera with me when I'm in the woods. I found the one man crosscut saw mostly buried in one of the areas that I was working. Only the portion where the handle was attached was sticking out from the ground. Luckily it was close to the road and I was able to packed it out. Due to my job I have found a lot of cool and odd things. Some of it I packed out, including the saw, a few old cans that were still in decent condition, and some deer and elk sheds. Most of it though I just left it there or it was to big. Quite a few years ago I ran across most of an old steam donkey (google it). It had a 30" Douglas Fir tree growing between the sleds. I've run across old railroad trestles, lots of steel cable and chokers, old mines, old water pipes, the foundation of houses and cabins that were long gone, and a few abandon cars / trucks. I have also found my self walking through and old cemetery that had long been forgotten. That one was little creepy.

Probably the weirdest / creepiest thing that I have come across was in one of my jobs. My boss and I were marking stream buffers for a logging unit when we noticed something strange in the roots of a tree that had fallen over along an unstable area. We worked our way down to it and found it to be a wooden box that was approximately 3.5' X 2' with an old sleeping bag stuffed in it. You could see when they buried it when the tree was still standing, but it had been down for awhile and the box was partly rotted away. At this point I was getting that uneasy feeling. I started feeling around and could feel something that was hard and roundish. I pulled part of the sleeping bag back and could see a small stuffed animal and what looked like a piece if a bone. At this point my boss and I looked at each other with that "oh s" look and headed back to the truck thinking we probably should get some one out there. The company we were working for called the sheriff and they sent out an officer. He took one look at it and decided that he needed to call is boss to see if they wanted a forensic team. They decided to have the sheriff carefully start to pull things out to see what we had (up to this point pulling the corner of the bag back was all anyone had done). Once the sheriff got into the bag we realized that it was a dog that someone had buried. I have never been so happy to see a dead dog. Some where I do have a picture of the grave, I'll see if I can find it.

I bet someone had a blast finding all my grandfather's tools that I borrowed and left in the woods 40 yrs ago. Making forts and clubhouses.

Damn near cleaned out the area of all the willow switches from all the times I got my ass beat from losing his tools.

Naw. I know where they are. I used to snag his tools and build mini log cabins every summer I was out. We had freedom to do whatever as kids, my brother and I. Central PA was pretty awesome back then.
