I agree it's crazy. Sometimes the company is so large, that it gets overlooked. Sometimes the property is tied up in lawsuits. Other times it may be mothballed just in case they need it in the future. My company bought an old dragline that had been parked for years. It's a piece of shit though, because of the retrofitting required to get it running.

The drilling company I work for now had bought another outfit out. After a year or so a farmer called wanting to know if he could buy the water tank from them from the rig left on his property from 4 years earlier. They didn’t even know they owned it since it got lost in the system during the takeover as it wasn’t working at the time. Stranger things can happen.

I found this pretty cool entrenching tool over 30 years ago and still have it.[IMG]

Haha...by the way I did my due diligence and contacted the emergency beacon authority. They called the registered owner, who said he’d sold the beacon. The new owner didn’t register it, so guess what, it belongs to meeeee!

I've always wanted to see those. I live in Maine, but Eagle Lake is still hours from me

Fished one of these out of a lake in Georgia a few years back.

Also, I need to get out more...

Most likely explanation is that it came from a docked boat that was damaged in Hurricane Florence. Second most likely explanation is it fell off a boat that was perfectly seaworthy. It’s rare that a boat actually sinks these days...

So what you’re saying is the beacon came off a boat where everyone was horrifically murdered and now I’ve cursed my boat with it.

I just recently realized that the little girl in that movie is Laura Moon(Emily Browning) in American Gods.

Took these pics on a friends farm about 6 years ago. It’s still sitting there.

when i was in 6th grade (44 now) on my walk to my friends house in the morning i passed through woods and on the way i found a handgun. it was a revolver, not in terribly bad shape so i picked it up and put in in my backpack, at home period before classes i showed some friends and a girl at the next table saw. and reported me to the principal. i ended up getting 2 weeks in-school suspension. No idea the history or back story of the gun.
