While riding around the desert in SE California, we bumped into this multi-level party deck -- we have no idea what was going on here. There were no (old) roads leading up to the deck. The nearest pavement is maybe 30+ miles away.

It looks like someone just pulled their RV away. Must have been a shaky ride back to pavement.

I found this tiny gnome nestled in a tree at Dupont State Forest while taking a pitstop.

I'd love to know if it's full of 50 years worth of leaves....or cash.

I was apprehensive about diving in there, I plan on going back in a few days for a better look.

I didn't think so, but a quick Google search.... and there's one about 20 miles away. I figured it was some wanna be go fast Magpul guys playing in the woods, or some movie crew. I didn't think the army was do training on public land, and leave their brass everywhere. Found some spent blank casings at our camp about 10 miles away and a few other locations.

I'm fairly certain it's an old homesite; in '91 (I think) the federal government purchashed several tracts of private land for recreational use, once it was purchased it was left untouched and everything that was left behind has pretty much been overtaken with nature.
