    More specifically... Wood Duck...
Looks to be great wood duck habitat.

and I'm guessing the stove pipe were put in place
    to promote/offer nesting sites.

Wood ducks do not nest on the ground.

We use to find camp fuel, coffee filters, and all sorts of stuff that people would use to make meth with around where we use to hunt.

I found an old house in the woods. I was told it was there and went looking. I have a relative who owns the land. My uncle and my dad (before he died) would deer hunt ont he land. They spent many nights after hunting in that old house according to my uncle. So Last time I was there, I went searching and found it. Pretty cool old house. I need to go back out there and explore some more. I was told there is an old pot belly stove in there (may not be pot belly, probably just an old wood burning camp stove). If I can find it, I am taking it home with me (with permission from my relative). It will make a good memory of my dad :)

I would have gone up stairs lol, I have tramped all over old barns, and this house looks a lot like those. Depending on how it weathered, those boards could be very strong. then again, they could be weak. Just go nice and slow and carefully.

I have also found numerous animal skeletons...and one Coyote that was strung up like a pig being carried on a pole. I did some research, and I was told that it was there to keep coyotes away....it was taken down, now there are coyotes on our land

It's technically not a "find" if you're the one who stashed her.

The family has hundreds of arrow heads, stone axe heads, etc. from decades of plowing missouri river bottoms. We used a 5 lb axe head for a door stop when I was a kid.

The coolest thing we have is probably a 10" mastadon molar.

We found an old bunker in the woods behind a buddies house in Sharpsburg Ga. There is also some very old farm equipment, a small shack, a collapsed windmill and colapsed barn. I think at some point in time the bunker was used to make moonshine due to all the broken mason jars littering the forest floor around the bunker. Here are pics of the bunker.

Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.
I found muddy, bloody woman's underwear, a muddy, bloody blanket, a muddy empty bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey and a broken pair of glasses.

I didn't find the body though.

I wish I could find more pics of it. I know have pics of the barn, shack and farm equipment but I have no idea where I saved them. We walked right past the stairs 3 or 4 times before we saw them. The property owner did a very good job in hiding the entrance. He planted privet hedge in a circular pattern around it so that it looked only like a thicket of overgrown bush. The only clue that there was something underground was a vent sticking up through the leaves on the forest floor. Of course none of the hedge had been pruned in years so it was a bitch getting through it. We paid for the exploration. I think I had about 50 bug bites and we were covered in ticks! This is the approx. layout of the area....

I went back as far as 93 and you can see the entrance to the driveway and what is possibly the house that once stood. Very poor image quality though. All evidence disappears after 2005. The windmill must have been down before 93. I see no evidence of it at all in any of the images.

That's cool! 50's model? I always wonder how things get left like that to be consumed back into the earth. A long time ago somebody just said to hell with it. "Hey Ted, lets dump the bastard right here" Makes you wonder if a crime was commited to just leave a car in the woods.

No pics...Fishing off Long Island, towed up an old Navy aerial ordinance. Was roughly 25 feet long, 6 feet in diameter. I was on the stern, running the net drum. Could see it though the mesh of the net, was thinking "Wow, that's a perfectly round rock - so smooth, too". Needless to say we all about shit our pants when we realized what it was. We very carefully got it off the deck and back into the water where it belonged. No, didn't see the bright white light. Lucky.

Towed up what must have been an array of sonobuoys a few years ago. Collected about three individual units, with parachutes, bottom contact sensors, batteries and transponders. Cool stuff. They didn't look cheap.

    About it for now.
