The ant always falls over on its right side when intoxicated.

    Who tested this?

URGENT!!!!! Chocolate is indeed toxic to dogs! The toxin amount varies by the type of chocolate (milk, dark, etc) and the size/weight of the dog also contributes.

    Bottom line: you got lucky.

Another food toxic to dogs that few know about: grapes

Please contact your veterinarian or do a google search for substances toxic to pets--you will be surprised at what is on it.

That's bullshit too. I've fed my dog countless grapes. All varieties, kinds and colours. I've also heard honey is deadly to them. No. She's still alive.

Face it, dogs are allergic to as much stuff as the general human population. AKA - Nothing.

Dogs probably die from chocolate, cause they eat so much of it, they spend the next 3 days puking and shitting themselves into dehydration oblivion.

This first one contains a good chart for amounts and types:
    http://www.beaglesunlimited.com/beaglehealth_chocolatetoxicosis.htm

    http://nsac.ca/envsci/staff/jhoyle/students/cs276gp3/page3.htm

    http://www.petroglyphsnm.org/casacanine/sour_grapes.html

I do not wish to start an argument over this. I only wish to let others know that the theobromide found in chocolate can in fact kill one's dog. The fact that certain dogs have not had any reaction to chocolate or grapes does not mean that they are not toxic to dogs. This dog has not had a bad reaction to chocolate; therefore, chocolate is not toxic to dogs is akin to saying my dogs are long-haired; therefore, all dogs are long-haired. Above are three articles for further information for anyone who might be interested. As I mentioned earlier, the type and amount of chocolate ingested makes a difference, and unsweetened baker's chocolate is the worst. Take this as it is meant--as a well-meaning warning that dogs are not the same as people. I don't expect to change anyone's mind if it is already made up, just to let others know the risks. Any google search will show countless tragedies that are not "bullshit", and most "allergies" rarely kill. Besides, if the end result of an "allergy" could, in fact, be death, how would one know if a particular pet has that allergy, and would one take that chance?
