Weird grinding noise of some sort HELP!!!!

Ok guys need your input I recently tried to put my truck into 4h but did not engage found out my 4wd actuator is no good both my 4x4 and 4 lo lights were flashing a couple days later my 4x4 light was only think flashing then this morning it stopped flashing but now as I drive I'm here a weird grinding noise as I speed up or slow down. What the hell could it be? Could it possibly be my tranny or just that 4wd actuator.
