Ever since I've owned this truck.
(8 months) the left headlight has thrown an uneven beam.
I finally figured out the bulb was put in wrong. Normal position is with the middle spade "up"
It was put in with middle spade to right. I thought I had a bad reflective surface.

    Pretty much stock right now
That's interesting. I didn't know they could go in wrong, but I have not changed a headlamp bulb in a long time. Usually bulbs only fit one way.

They do fit the other way, and it is not hard to do. The only way I noticed was my plug had to be twisted and I knew that was not right.

What do you mean by 'weird' pattern? The headlights are supposed to have a beam that has a flare up on the right side. It is meant to not blind oncoming traffic to your left.

The weird pattern was; The left headlight pointed to the right. When parked in front of a wall most of the beam was pointed straight ahead while the other part of the beam pointed right.

Because the bulb was laying on it's side it was pointing right or normally "Up" & out front of the vehicle.

I've seen some tacomas with a jacked up reflector glaring light all over, and they were halogens too. I bet that's probably the reason. I always thought it was because they had front end damage at some point
