OK. I just traded my Silverado in on a 2012 model Tacoma i4 5speed truck. I didn't notice this sound when I test drove it or when I rode it to work and back home but it kinda sounds like an air sucking noise on the passenger side front of the truck. Maybe from the air cleaner box? Is this normal or??? Plz help

Stock OEM filter. Doesn't do it when coasting around or in high rpms.

Its very faint too. My wife says I'm crazy that it sounds exactly the same as when we test drove it. Maybe it did and I didn't notice it but I can now.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Running along the base of the windshield (specifically under the passenger wiper blade on mine) is a two piece black plastic molding that was not properly clipped together. Carefully snap it back together and perhaps that will take care of the problem.

I will definitely check there. I just noticed it last night and today I've made 10 trips up and down the road trying to figure it out. I figured it may have been just air being sucked into the filter. Maybe its that tho.

    Are camper shell
I noticed the same sound from both of my 4cyl 5speed tacos, but not my 4cyl double cab. The sound is coming from the catalytic converter area it's a normal sound, basically exhaust pressure moving through. my guess is the base models have less sound dampening material inside and you just hear more from outside, don't worry about it

I had same type of noise on my 07, I found the air filter tube that goes into the fender was vibrating against the fender causing the sound on my truck, I added some 1/2" pipe insulation around opening and my noise went away. Somthing easy to check.
