Did an oil change about 1 week ago. I refilled with Redline 0w20. The oil level was reading right in the center of the top dot when cold. Lately I've been noticing a subtle whirring/humming sound when I accelerate. Almost like straight-cut gear whine except very quiet. Don't remember hearing this noise on then original Toyota Oil.

I believed this to be the rear diff but I notice that if I went into neutral or pressed the clutch the sound stopped. The sound gets more noticable while accelerating or decelerating/coasting and in gear.

About 3 days ago I also got a dash warning for "check brake system". The warning went away and hasn't come back yet.

Today I found out that the sound can produced by revving the engine and matches the engine rpm.

Any ideas guys? I appreciate the help. Thank you.

Is it your first time doing an oil change yourself on this truck? Not being a dick, serious question.

After the first time I do an oil change on a vehicle I ALWAYS start hearing shit I swear wasnt there before, and I have had buddies show me I'm just nutso.

Anyways, I have this same engine rpm matching slight "whirring/whisperish" you are talking about as well. 60k miles and still no issues.

The check brake warning though...no idea on that one

Yes, this is my first time doing an oil change. Only 18.2k miles and I did the change a little early to get a clean and higher quality oil since I'm going to be doing a lot of driving this peak season.

The only thing I can think of that may have caused the check brake system warning was this:

I rocked the truck back and forth with the engine off and neutral and may have pulled the handbrake when the truck was still rolling very slightly.

Do you hear it with the clutch pushed in?

With the clutch pedal pressed in it stopped. Let's say that I'm accelerating and the whole while I'm hearing the sound while the truck is picking up speed. I clutch in to shift and the noise stops momentarily and then starts back up when I shift to the next gear and start giving It has again.

I thought it was the rear diff howl making noise again. But when I was returning from work today I randomly chose to rev the engine in neutral. While I'm revving I hear this quiet whining/whirring/humming noise when the RPMs pickup and then stop when the engine returns to idle.

You're still under warranty, have the dealer check it out. 2nd Gens had issues with clutch TO bearing and shaft issue.

I'm considering this but I don't think it's a throwout bearing issue. The issue on 2nd gens was the TO bearing chirping when in neutral and would stop when pressing on the clutch.

Also, I forgot to mention but it's been really windy and there is a lot of dust and ash blowing. Perhaps some dust got into a bearing somewhere.

Found a video. The noise in this video is very similar except not nearly as loud but is noticeable. The video description describes my issue the same way.
