    Hi All,

Just swapped out my front shocks for kings. The kings are lower than the shocks I was running before. Getting a weird noise from the drivers side when driving, don’t hear it while turning. Sides like something is running against something. Currently at the alignment shop so I’m gonna see if the sound is still there after the alignment.

Still need to jack up the drivers side a bit for the taco lean as well.

    Any thoughts?

    thanks!

report back the final alignment numbers after the ht adjustment is completed.

Don't align until that is done.

Hard to hear anything over all the wind noise blowing across the microphone.

I do kinda hear a metallic rattling sound though, like that of a heat shield on the exhaust or some other sheetmetal vibrating against something (doesn't sound alignment-related). Could also be your front brake rotor shields, maybe one of those got bent slightly.

Yea i figured it out for mine. It was the brake shield. Bottom side was bent in a little and contacting the wheel. I think it bent from my leg pressing against it while changing the suspension. I just pushed it out a little and was all good. I would just pull the tire off and look at the brake shield and maybe bend it back just slightly to see if that fixes your issue.

Mine started doing this, not exactly sure when. It sounds similar though. Are you talking about the front brake shield?

Correct, it was my driver side front brake shield. I took off the front tire and bent the shield back from the caliper and was good to go.

    Fixed the mystery truck rattle.

    No tools, 15 seconds…

The disc brake shield was touching the hub. Grab it with a pair of gloves around the edge and adjust until it’s not touching. Didn’t even take the wheel off.

Tap the passenger side and it probably rings. Tapping the drivers side it was a dull sound. Adjusted to where they both ring the same and now there’s no rattling.

Makes sense that it went away for others after a full brake job, since they likely moved it in the process.

    Thanks folks!
