Weird Noise... Like chains ? help please...

    today I was driving and I began to hear what sounded like metal being dragged under my truck .... I thought it was a loose catalytic converter but I stopped and looked underneath and nothing was hanging.

    I gassed it as the sound persisted then boom I heard a louse noise and it stopped ....

    Anyone know what that could have been??
