When i cold start my tacoma in the morning, theres a weird rattling or maybe even a wire shorting noise when im driving. It sounds like its coming from the crawl control area. Once you drive the truck for a little bit it goes away and doesn’t really come back for the rest of the day. It seems like it doesn’t like the cold. The colder it gets the noisier it seems to be. Im not sure if something is lose up there but im going to be taking it to the dealer soon for a oil change and I’ll have them look at it then

Probably a wire rattling or some plastic rubbing. Winter time brings some new noises in the cab area in my truck as well. Get used to it. I think some plastics swell and shrink with temperatures. Have you recently pulled the overhead console to put in led's? Like upgrade map lights? I've heard of people breaking stuff pulling the console for that. It can drive you nuts OR you can just turn the radio :headbang::pumpkin::headbang:

Turning the radio up is a great way to discover your brake pads went out 2000 miles ago and you've been stopping with metal on metal! Lol
