I have a 2018 manual transmission Tacoma. Yesterday I heard a noise like a small electric motor or something coming from under the rear of it (click the link below - let me know if that doesn't work). The truck had been off for about five hours. I turned it on and backed it out of the garage, let it run for a minute or two then parked it back in the garage and turned it off and there was no more noise.
Any idea what it could have been?
    Thanks

I don't know anything about that. Is it supposed to do that? Is it a problem?

Got you beat! At least your noise concern is normal. o_O Brand new off the dealer lot. Man the Mexicans have great quality control at that high tech plant.

This is kinda ironic because when we were going to buy a truck I was telling a friend we were going to get a used Tacoma and he said we could get a new Ram for the same price. He tried to convince us. I didn't want a Ram. Never have, never will.
This is my fourth Toyota truck. I know what I like, and why.

LoL! Right? I actually wouldn't be surprised to have this kind of thing happen after just buying a new Ram! Or is it Dodge?

That's a good way to put it. The real bummer will be if it does not get resolved tomorrow. There is no way I can own/drive a vehicle with that freaking rattle. I have owned cars that have little rattles after a period of time, hell even my 6yr old 4R is not completely rattle free. But this blows anything I have ever experienced out of the water that's for sure.

It only does when I make a turn sometimes, or like in the video I serve the truck back and forth. Sounds like something is loose either in door, or up on top right of dash area. Also, the thumping noise are the 20 lbs of manuals in the glove box sliding back and forth.

The only 'weird noise I've experienced is creaking from my seat belt.
It only happens when the female portion is at a certain angle. Took me a while to figure it out... Sometimes it would occur while driving; other times while I was at a stop, just breathing deeply. It's become a habit to just adjust it into a silent position when I 'click in'.

    It’s a 2023.
I’d take it to the dealership and tell them to figure it out. Until then, I’d take their loaner and run the miles up on it.
Don’t settle for less, the dealership usually gets on top of things pretty quick when you have their stuff:eek:
