Weird nub on the tire

Tire guys, what in the world is this nub in the tire channel? It’s embedded into the tire and soft like rubber. factory toyo a30 tires. Thanks!

 

Looks like a tire plug from a repair.

Squirt a bit of soap/water on it. Does the soap/water mix bubble? If not, then ignore it.

 

When the tire came out of the mold that was left behind. I have seen that before. That is not a problem,not a defect.

 

With that being said, I personally have never seen a round plug like that. If this is molded to the tire It came from the mold.

 

Grab some pliers and try to pull it out.... after all, it is Friday.

Actually, that is ultimately an erection mold.

 

Looks like a patch plug, I use these at work.

 

Thank you all for your replies! I’m going to go with a plug since it seems to be attached in the hole it’s sitting in. I would think if it’s from the mold it would be attached at the base. I think I’m going to have a convo with the dealer. Thanks all!

That’s a plug. A quality one. The cheap eBay ones are thin and crappy. The thicker they are the better it’ll seal against leaks. I’m surprised they didn’t cut it down closer to the crown of the tire.

In true TW fashion, the only way to know for sure is to taste it.

 

Why bother with the dealer. So what, it was repaired before you bought it. So you say, but they will argue you fixed it. Patch plug is the tire manufacturers recommended way to repair. If done right it will last for ever.
Move on. Now if that has been just a rope plug done from the outside, I would have it patched/plugged properly once possible.
