Similar here... Commute to work and back is about 90 miles.
That's 18 days every 4 weeks so I've got a good 3000 every 2 months without any weekend or evening driving.

Previous jobs I used my own vehicles for company use. 2003 and 2004 I put 45k on my '03 Tundra both years... 15 miles on 11/3/02 and 125k on 8/19/05 when I traded her in.
Managed 47k on my Duramax from 8/05 to 3/07

LOL, I put on only 2000 miles in three months, but it's mostly rush hour stop-and-go traffic on the highway.

That isn't true. Amsoil has a filter out that goes to 25,000 miles. It's their Eao filter. This is the filter that I use and it's no bigger than the stock filter. I however change my oil and filter @ around 7500 miles. I also use Amsoil oil.

How is the 25k life achieved? The Toyota filtering media is packed pretty densely, and there's no wasted space (lengthwise) unlike most aftermarket filters. There's no magic here. Amsoil can either pack the media even more densely or select media that doesn't filter the fine particles as well. Neither is a good option.

I wish I could make that mistake, but Toyota didn't think enough of 2.7 buyers to put the filter where we can reach it without toasting our arm on the exhaust.

    It's not.

If you ignore the evangelists and actually look at the PUBLISHED information from Amsoil, those intervals are only possible in conjunction with a bypass filtration system.

Open up an Amsoil filter, and you will find a very high quality....

    .... WIX filter.

It's 25,000 or one year. And it says nothing about bypass filtration. I would never go that long. It even says go to 15,000 in severe use. I change @ 7500

Looks like they use a different media than conventional filters. Looks like it filters better also. Right, it's not magic. It's science and the use of the latest technology. And yes I believe they are made by Wix. So what. They make good filters.

    Scroll down for info
    http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eao.aspx

And just because something is different than what you believe or have been accustomed to, does not make it bullshit.

And no I'm not affiliated with Amsoil. I just use and believe in their products. Use it in everything. It works.

All that and you are not enough of a true believer to go the full 25,000 miles?

If you can't put up then shut up.

    This...

If this filter is good enough for Lexus V-8, Tundra, and Supra I think it can handle a 4.0 V-6.

Thats the only filter that has been on my truck since I first changed out the small OE filter. 84k and no issues here.

Hey man I am just saying. If you brag about how its good for 25,000 miles but will not do it. I mean come on. You can not stand behind a product and then not use it as intended. Now review your link for your self.

Ya... My '93 Blazer had it in the "correct" location, but there were a ton of threads "Where's my fucking oil filter?!?!?!?!?!"

Hey man, I wasn't bragging about anything. I was giving information that might be useful about new technology and clearing up misconceptions that you and others said about filter life.

And if you read back I said I would never go that long without sending the oil to a lab and that is a pain in the ass to get a sample and then wait for the results. It also costs money. If I had a by-pass system I would send it to the lab. Which would save money even with the cost of the lab work.

So just because I called you out on your BS comment doesn't mean you have to throw your ego around. It sounds like you are too busy or set in your ways to be open to new ideas or to learn new things. That is unfortunate and the ignorance link I posted was referring that, specifically this part....

    "Consequences of Ignorance

Individuals with superficial knowledge of a topic or subject may be worse off than people who know absolutely nothing. As Charles Darwin observed, "ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge."[4]
Ignorance can stifle learning, in that a person who falsely believes he or she is knowledgeable will not seek out clarification of his or her beliefs, but rather rely on his or her ignorant position. He or she may also reject valid but contrary information, neither realizing its importance nor understanding it."

So again, have a good day and good luck man. Now back on topic.

HAHAHAHAHAHA everyone arguing over what the manufactors dictate how there product will perform.

Who cares if you change your filter once a week, or when you change your oil. As long as you can look at your dipstick and check the condition of your oil, then i think you can determine when its needed. C'mon people its the basics here.

BTW I love the Charles Darwin quote, however I'd be careful throwing it out like that. Someone might call you on it, and if your not a chemical engineer, and making the product your advertising, don't act like you have the before said "knowledge". Just saying.
