Weird problem with locking truck

    dealer did it for free, they were just as confused , so the manager just wanted to figure out why it was happening . We are all suspecting the ECU may have some unknown gremlin.

    and of course, just hope nobody else has to deal with it but hope it helps them in the future !

    My 21 h key doesn’t have very much distance. Also depends on what’s in the way, sometimes I can lock it from inside the house, sometimes not. Someone showed me once this trick for distance, open your mouth and hold the key in front of it as you push the button. Sounds horribly dumb. But I saw it work on a Toyota matrix when we were on a boat pretty far in the water, and the car was in the parking lot.

    Never heard of that one... Have you tried changing the battery in the remote? The "radio" signal in the remote gets weak when the battery is low.
