I don't know if this applies to 6 luggers since the 5 luggers have a different front end, but back when I had my sway bar on, my tires would rub on full turn against it. Check your sway bar and see if you have any marks.

gotta be the UCA, double check tire pressure, should be around 35psi. that is the only thing your tire could be rubbing on in that spot.

wheelers off road makes a 1/4" spacer for 5 bucks. get it and solve your problem

My truck is doing the same thing on both sides. Truck only has 32,000 kms. I still have the stock rims with the stock 245/75/16 Dunlop at20's. Wonder wtf. The groove on the drivers side is deep.

have your tires been under inflated and driven on? i would guess that is sidewall fatigue if its on the inner and outer part of the tire.

I'm not sure if the LCA is out of the question. Look at the side of the LCA that faces the rear of the truck, very near where the bump stop would contact and see if there is a fresh rub mark.

It is rubbing right on the piece just below the upper ball joint. There is for whatever reason a little bump on the piece that is on the spindle just about an inch up from where the anti swaybar link connects. Not sure I that is the spindle, but anyways tire is rubbing on both sides on that warty nipple gimmick just a hair up from where the anti sway bar link connects..... Very deep groves in my tires. Called my local dealer, and they have never heard of this.

Tires seem fine for pressure. My moron beeper that tells me I have a low tire is silent. Tires don't look low or flat.

There are even fresh rubber shavings around the area in question. There is now dust on the tires so it is not rubbing anymore. Think I will jack it up and see how wonky things are under there. I do use my truck for work in the oil patch way up here in northern BC. I have been bouncing around in some fairly good ruts. But who would think the top of my tires would rub??? It is for sure rubbing up top.

Check your sway bar on the front side. Mine rubbed a little there but not bad. Chances are its rubbing at full lock when you step on the gas....which will lift the front a bit...changing the geometry enough to rub

Extremely strange that a completely stock truck right down to the tires with low miles is doing this. Will take some pics maybe tonight and post. On my iPhone without tapatalk so I can't attach a pic. Going to pull tire now!

if you yank a tire, you should be able to see a shiny spot on the truck where it is rubbing..no?

Good point on the shiny spot. There was none. Took lots of pics. Must got a rock or piece of something stuck in there. Will still post some pics. Upper and lower ball joints seemed tight, and wheel bearing seems good. Maybe I need a big honking lift, some new offset rims and a big set of wheel spacers. I do drive in the rough muddy road a lot.

I think I know exactly what part your talking about. Its a little bump I remember it because I put on my 5100's less than 2 months ago and I remember seeing that little bump and it was shiny black like it had fresh rub on it. I also just threw on 265/70/17 BFG TA KO AT's on the stock TRD Sport rims a couple days prior to that, but it looked like this had been an ongoing rubbing issue even with the previous stock tires. Ill try to snap a picture tomorrow. I have this pic but I cant see it here so ill try to get a better one. I bet its that!

definitely LCA. I had some 265's on stock wheels way back and they rubbed the LCA at full lock once in a while.
I vote its rubbing on the back side of the LCA
(didnt read the whole thread, sorry if it was already found)

In my case it was rubbing on the chassis, that is where I found the shiny spot. If I had 1/4" spacers it would likely prevent the rubbing. But it only happens when the wheels are turning a hard right or left, and this would only be at low speeds. So I'm not too worried about it.

SwampDonkey....mine is not stock so my situation is quite different from yours.

Finally got around to posting some pics.... The skinny deep groove with the penny is on the drivers side, and the fat wide rubbing is on the passenger side. As you can see, the roads and mud was dry and I have no idea still to this day why it rubbed. After my own investigation, I could not find anything loose. Mentioned it to Dealer when I went in for a service, and they had never seen it before.

I would worry about the sidewall as those are some deep grooves. Esp on the drivers side.

I know what the problem is now.. I just installed 265/70/17 BFG TA KO on my stock TRD Sport rims about 2 months ago. Everyone says these tires won't rub but I get the exact same marks on mine. Yesterday I had my front wheels off to check my brakes and found the spot that rubs. It the LCA. I will post pics in a minute...

These are in both sides but my driver side is worse just like yours. This is hard to see with the tire on. And as far as that little knob or knuckle goes, mine also looks like it is rubbing and is shinny but I can't find where it could possibly be rubbing. They were shinny with the stock tires too so it can't be anything bad.

Simply amazing. I took more pics than what I posted. Will have to do some Dexter like forensic studying of them to see if it was also rubbing on my lower control arm. I wonder if it is from going around a corner at full turn and hitting ruts and bumps in the road? Or did something get caught in there. Just because I have 2 totally different grooves.
