I hope these are correct for your year... having said that, check powers and grounds first. In the E.C.T. diagram you will see that the throttle position potentiometer and the Trans over temp light are connected.

Yes , first thing to check is the converter clutch lock up circuit . Its a good size circuit on these trucks as it combines the vehicle speed sensor , the transmission temp sensor , the throttle posistion sensor and the converter clutch lock up solenoid . I would be looking for a broken wire to the temp sensor first . The converter clutch will not lock up if the truck doesnt get a temp sensor reading from the computer . The computer also needs to see vehicle speed as well as how deep your foot is down on the gas pedal by means of the throttle position . The above posted files are an excellent source for diagnosisng your issue

Update: Mechanic looked into my check engine code (P1135) for my upstream O2 sensor heater circuit. Found a bad ground, wire looked good but needed to be readjusted for proper ground. Seems to have fixed my problem, no drivability problems yesterday. Taking truck on a few 3-4 hour drives this weekend, that'll be a true test. All colorful dash lights are off!

Good to hear, hopefully it works out fine and you can have turkey weekend off from investigating the truck issue.

I believe it was the ground point on the passenger side back near the dash in the engine bay. I forgot what one the mechanic specified. I drove it for 8hours over holiday weekend and no more issues, so problems solved.
