I have a 1996 2.7 tacoma 4wd. In every gear when I get to high rpms it would start making like a shhhhhhh sound but with a whistle. Mabye an exhaust leak but the wiredest thing. I filled my tank up and I tried to intentionally do it but the noise went away... lol any idea?

used to have - 99 2.4L I4 5 lug & 04 prerunner v6

filling the tank will quiet a noisy fuel pump, that might have been your noise

It disappeared for a couple months came back. I replaced the fan clutch and that was definitely the problem
