Weirdest food you've had

WE go to a Rocky Mt Oyster festival here every year and the variety of recipes is great. Stuffed jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon is enough to convert the most skeptic.

 

Gator and Ostrich Jerky separately. Was pretty tasty.

 

Mt. Lion. The little bit I had was really good

Gator. Can’t get enough

 

Monkfish. It was good, but so ugly I couldn't eat the whole thing.

 

1988... In Leningrad, pickled herring, horse sausage and cheap caviar and outside of Moscow, dog cutlets.

Herring, caviar would pass on again. Dog, eh, horse sausage was like a fatty pepperoni.

 

I actually like pickled herring, pike or walleye.

 

I had pickled pike. It was neither good or bad...lol

 

Pickled carp is also neither good or bad...it's terrible.

My dad was constantly trying to find ways to make carp taste good. Baked or pickled were the worst, canned was sort of tolerable.

 

The only thing that should be pickled are pickles.

 

Peppers... Eggs? Are olives pickles?

 

I'll give you the peppers and olives. Good call. The eggs, nope. They suck.

I'm russian/Czech.
We used to eat this pie that my grams used to make. Spelling is prob wrong but I remember it as "Stutzenenya".

It was a pie of sorts made with pork.
It had some sort of coagulated gelatin on top. Pork was boiled, cooled and placed in a pie pan on top of a crust.

Placed in the fridge to cool.

 

Pickled eggs are excellent.

 

And pickled pigs feet, pickled salmon.
