sup sup? Welcome to the shitshow. Joined this forum in 2011 after purchasing a 2011 single cab 4wd Tacoma. It came with a 3” spacer lift and 3” body lift. It went under MULTIPLE transformations until it’s final form was upside down in a ditch.

    Meanwhile I purchased a 2014 Tundra 5.7 crewmax 4wd to be the daily/row pig.

Which I hated with a passion. Even though it was super rad to spray a 175 dry shot through the stock engine with a stock tune.

Now, after having one of the smallest vehicles Toyota offers(single cab) and the big boy tundra with enough room for a hot tub in the back seat, I decided I wanted something in the middle.

A mid size 4wd. Something with room for 4 comfortably yet not too big for the trails. Must have aftermarket support and be affordable.

I ended up with a 2013 Trail Edition 4Runner with KDSS . I fell in love the moment I test drove it.

2 months later and i installed a full icon stage 2 suspension on it and had it sitting on some supeerrrrrr fly methods and 285 BFG’s

NOWWWWWWW. The ole lady is in the Navy and doesn’t have a car due to her being a hella good person and helping someone else out who needed a car more than her at the time.

Well the time has come for her to get stationed and us to move to our new home. So she needs a vehicle again. I optioned her to go to the dealership and pick out a ford truck she wants ( :puke: she’s a ford girl).

Which was the plan until she fell in love with my runner and the idea of only having one big truck payment rather than 2.

Now I need a new vehicle.

    Same demands.
4wd. Room for 4. Fits down trails and aftermarket support. An extra demand was cheap since I already have one “nice” family vehicle.

My good buddy just so happened to have a built 3rd gen runner laying around he wasn’t using anymore so I picked it up off him. It needs a little bit of love but it’s already locked front and rear with 4.56s and fully armored.

So in comes the 2nd 4Runner to my driveway

This one will be getting fixed up to daily driveable/weekend wheeling condition again while the 5th gen will be mostly for easier/longer distance exploring trips.

So this one is basically the wife’s runner now and I’ll be building it to however she wants. She already requested a snorkel and sliders which will be happening once I sneak her credit card from her :spy:

I wanted a blue TE, but only could find a gray one. Im still happy with it, but that blue one looks really good.

I actually loveeee the grey trails. I hated my silver Tacoma but it looks sooo good on the trail runners with the black accents.

New alternator is finally in the 3rd gen. She fired right up and purrs perfectly. Gonna take her on a little shake down run tomorrow

Some people would say I went overlanding. But really it was just a test drive after the alternator swap and filling the diffs up with fluid. Really good shakedown run. Got a few squeaks and rattles but nothing crazy. Very happy with it.

Went wheeling for a day in the wife’s 5th gen. She wanted to see what her rig could do so we stuck to easy trails but was super fun just getting out

Much better. Found a hole in the floor by the hatch so I utilized it. I could’ve hid the air line behind the panel but didn’t have a long enough hose so this will work for now. I can always move it later on. Slowly but surely.
