It ain't that exciting... I move at a snail's pace. I do HVAC, plumbing and electrical, but I am buying houses as I go. There is no retirement for the self-employed so these houses are my retirement. I'm 41 years old this year so I'm doing pretty well. I have had literally no luck with employees. I run morning noon and night but I can't get anyone that will keep up. My best guys are 65 and 69 years old. They are retired and like to do things to stay busy. Anyone 18-30 has been a joke. Right now I've got a 16 year old amish kid that is kicking ass. VERY green but a quick learner with the right drive. He's back on his farm for a few months but I will get him back soon.

I just stumbled upon this post, so late to the party but I am also in Ohio (just north of Dayton) and looking to build a garage within the next 2 years. I'd love to put drains in my garage too but wondered how you were able to do so when I've been reading they are against code in Ohio. Could be just my region, but I thought it was an Ohio code thing. Did you have to "hide the drain" from inspection?

I live in the country. We have no formal inspections. I am a licensed plumber and electrician... You would need a buttload of headaches to do it to code. Sometimes a little duct tape and 1/4" of concrete can cover up a lot of sins that can be easily removed at a later date. I was never here and someone apparently hacked my account to provide this detail.

Where in Northern Ohio are you? I just got done having my new garage put up. Just a simple two car in addition to the 2.5 car attached I already had. I'm just east of Cleveland.
