Ford has great cars, considering they are competing with low wage Jap cars....I have a Stang too, but it's my toy car. Have fun!

I had an 88 Mustang GT convertible for a while. These new ones are something else.

Just be careful, you can get into DMV License points trouble real quick with a heavy foot and owning a bad boy like that.

Word is, the 412hp is way underrated. I've heard some folks are getting damn near that much stock at the wheels. You put a blower on that and you'll be at about 500hp. That's a crazy number.

Jeremy Clarkson said it best in the last issue of Top Gear "its no longer about horse power as for the same price as a civic you can have 400 ponies at your foot, the cars of the next decade will be about what you can actually do with that power"

Stangnet is a good site, and mustangworld used to have some good group buys. Nice car, I will never own another car after my mustang. :tear:

I like the new 5.0 motors come factory with forged cranks. If you put in some forged pistions and rods its capable of 1500 HP. Says hot rod magazine.

Congrats on the swap. You'll miss the truck but will love that 5.0! The new Mustang is a great platform for mods. My advice is to drive it as-is for a while and don't jump right in for the S/C. Start with CAI and a tune & contact Justin at VMP tuning for that.
I had an '06 convertible - I put a built motor and turbo on it and it was a high 11 sec car. Couldn't run it flat out at the strip without getting kicked off for no roll bar. Traded it for a brand new '08 Shelby GT500 that is now lightly modded and is the most fun I've had on 4 wheels.
    Enjoy!
