    Rain Visors,
Ok Guys it's been a while...and I'm still debating but It looks I will be getting a new taco. I had an 06 AC TRD OR, and loved it, but I was over working it and was too tight in the back.

Flash FWD a few years, I currently have an 03 silverado 2500, with 110K on it and I love it and it's a work horse but I get 9-10 mpg, and it's starting with the little things, power seat some times goes, speaker is blown in the back, brake control doesn't work anymore, have a brake light elec problem I've been chasing for ever, and trans is starting to slip. I know this game, and once I start I will be obligated to fix everything after that once I start putting money in. I've always needed the big 3/4 or 1 ton's because I used it for construction (for profit not home projects). This past year we did pretty well which was great for finance wise, but also really set it in stone that I don't want to focus so much energy into the business ( it's a side project for me that makes pretty good money). The past 2 months constructions been slow, and primary work has been light and I've been loving spending time with the family (between the two I'd avg 80 hr weeks)

So me and the wife were talking and we think we are going to shut down the construction side, I will start selling off equipment. That being said I no longer need big trucks. and albeit it may be a pain here and there, I will deal with the much smaller taco, and buy a small trailer if i need it.

This is coming about since my wives rav-4 needs to be replaced as well (2008 w/100k) and we are thinking anohter kid so its time for a sienna.

So with the 2016 Taco coming out later this year, I bet I could get a pretty nice deal on a 2015.

The 2016 is nice, but the 2015 I like the look, sure the 4.0 is a dog but it's also got 10 years of history behind it, and new and flashy doesn't do it for me.

So I am going to wait till slate spring and see what the dealers can do on a 2015 Taco AND sienna.

I am looking for a 2015 DCSB, TRD-OR package, 6-speed, and Preferably white, then black, then whatever they have but no red ( i love red but I've had like 10 red cars and wife says its time for a change)

with her getting the mini van- the family will never be in the truck. We take her car everywhere now, and def will with the mini van. I could probaby get away with AC, which i love but It's nice having the back seat.

I am POSITIVE I am going to be annoyed here and there with the smallness, but with just my house, and rentals. A small trailer will do me good, and the price difference with insurance, fuel, maintinance is about 3k a year plus the 10-15k purchase price difference for the 1T...so I will make it work.

I am also considering the SC but we will see.

I just wanted to share that haha

I dont think you can go wrong with that setup. SC would be very nice addition for sure.
Well welcome back I guess :D

Do some hard thinking when it comes to jumping from a full size to a midsize.

The size WILL take some getting accustomed to.

And think about getting a Double Cab. One day your kids will want to ride in it, and sitting in an access cab is borderline torture, not to mention no chance of putting car seats.

    Rain Visors,
I am going to get the Double Cab vs the Access Cab. Despite my car is rarely used as the family rig, They do come with me now and then, and I like the back seat.

As for the switch from Full size to Mid Size. Truth be told a full size would probably suit me best, Like an F150. But here is the thing, I will have the truck for 5+ years, and I LOVE and Miss driving a manual. So it's either a Ram 2500 with the cummins (I love that truck but if we do indeed shut down commercial construction and just work around our homes I can't justify it although I love it)

I'm also not towing anymore, I have a 7x18 enclosed @ 8k that Is our main on site trailer (which will be sold) and I have a 20ft Flat bed car hauler I used to flip cars ( I haven't used it in a while since my partner left his old shop). Plus I've been keeping track, my current truck the bed has had nothing but some 2x3's in it and a cooler for the past month, and the back seat hasn't had anyone in it in over 2/3 months.

I don't want the 1/2 ton because 1. I cant get a stick...I know that sounds like a dumb reason to buy a car, but I love and miss it and it's worth it for me. And They don't hold value AT ALL. At least the with Taco it may be a bit small, but I know I won't lose a ton. And I will get a small 6x8 enclosed trailer if I need for tools, material when i do have to run around (I'm trying to avoid doing this kind of work so hopefully it never happens)

    Rain Visors,

And yea, When I put the request out to dealers, I am going to have them price me the SC as well, I figure it can't hurt and they are pretty damn reliable with them installed (if it cut the life down I wouldnt do it) but we shall see.

My sugestion is if you have kids get Double Cab. You may think you not goign to carry them but kids find their way to "your" truck. So is wife so I suggest getting Auto, otherwise number of complains will not go away fro years. :D

People don't recommend it but I pulled a 20ft steel car hauler with a lifted 97 jeep wrangler on it over a thousand miles in 2 days. Granted, I have a Double cab short bed with the tow package and trans cooler and I was pushing the weight limit within a hundred pounds I'm pretty sure. But the truck did awesome.
