going down the highway minding my business, some dude is waiting to pull out on a side road, as soon as I go RIGHT in front of him he decides to go, knicks me in the back and then says he didn’t see me. Hmm. I’m sure there’s more damage that meets the eye too, the whole bed looks f***** up.
I guess I shall see what the insurances say!

Step 1 - Get check from insurance company

Step 2- Order high clearance rear bumper

step 3 - cut the effed up section of the bed off

step 4 - install rear high clearance bumper

    Step 5 - Profit

He didn't see the very large 4wheel safety cone gliding along the road? I see an eye test in his future.

This is no joke. The same happens to me.
To be honest, I think they become mesmerized by the brightly colored giant vehicle, stare at it.
Then don't realize it was moving the whole time, and that time has passed. Then......
They pull right on anyway. Idiots. I get cut off all the time.

I've almost missed big, brightly-colored trucks. Mainly because the sun was behind them, making it pretty hard to see. But those bright LED DRL's.....they'd be hard to miss.

Maybe it’s cause it’s close to the color of safety cones?

Lol safety cones are always getting hit.

Ditto, and to cover the other person who pointed out lighting conditions. not once was it because I was obscured by anything that would have prevented them from seeing a moving traffic cone

and whomever called inferno "red" thank you!! :) :)

Thank you to all those that replied!
The most important thing is that there were no injuries, I work graveyards so I was on my way home tired and I’ve had the truck less than a year so I kinda let out my frustration on him but cooled down once I saw his family was in his vehicle.
At this point, damage will be well over $2,000. Waiting on the other drivers insurance to call me back after they got a statement from him. Going to a local body shop at 10:30 to get an estimate on damage repairs.

My plans are, if all goes well, at the very minimum fix it to what it was. But optimal plan would be to get the bed fixed, but have enough money to get some rear armor and install that. And get that darn scratched wheel painted again!!! Very annoyed about the wheel as I baby them. No plans to sell the wheels in ANY CASE (sorry dudes). Don’t know if there is frame damage. I drove it to the DMV, insurance agent, and back home on the freeway and it felt fine, rear is kinda bouncy though, more than normal. I would hate to have to get a new truck as I worked so hard to get it and I’ve worked hard on it. But yes, I would most definitely get Inferno again. Favorite color hands down.

    Nothing worthy
He was distracted by how fucking good that truck looks.!
Had a guy drooling over my car a few years back and rear ended the person in front of him. TOO funny to watch it happen.

To be honest, kinda waiting for this to happen to me, wouldn't mind insurance paying a good chunk of a CBI high clearance steel bumper..... :anonymous:
