I suspect Chris knows that. Few would be ribbing him if they actually thought he did a poor job. They're just not going to tell him that (he has a big enough head already). As for the ribbing in general, his popularity is clearly the genesis of all that. He seems to enjoy it, or it would likely stop instantly - or maybe not.

Its all in fun. And I know many would let me know if it was fucked up, and offer assistance in ways to fix it. :)

Not alot of room behind the oven, but the connections were simply attached to threadded terminals with nuts. I ran the wires thru the existing conduit, and used a 90* peice to go into the new oven. I installed a plastic insert into the conduit where the 90* part was installed, to prevent the wires from chaffeing. AS for the wires, Wite to Wite, black to black, etc. Ground was made to the back of the oven. :)

Relax. It sounds like you did everything just fine. I'm not an expert, but I did once take an electrician course. I didn't see anything in your description which conflicted with what I remember from that.

Yeah, I made sure all connections were sound, and the ground was good. When I tested the power, I had Julie hit the breaker, while me and the dogs hid behind a wall with the fire extinguisher

I wonder if this belongs in the thread of legends...kinda..but kinda not..Chris did replace an oven without blowing up half of arizona..that would make it legendary...but not enough action happened. Haha :D (Pinaple should make a section just for chris)

Well, a decent hiding place at a distance is always good procedure when dealing with household electronics. Of course, I can well imagine Julie, observing your obvious confidence, set that circuit breaker from arms length (outstretched finger), ready to run fast at the first sign of trouble.

My wife usually prefers to hide, while I flip the switches. We had several loose wires in a breaker box once and I've never been able to truly convince her the flying sparks (with related noise) were the result of that, not my repair job at the time (that's my story and I'm sticking to it).

LOL. Good grief, Chris. If related, this may top anything you've done in the past.
