    Mojave Road!

116*F, washboards and whoops. Hit a couple harder than i’d of liked - they sneak up on ya. Other side blew out all its oil too. Remember reading a review on these from a magazine reviewer that used to work for Toyota on the original TRDs, and it claimed they were still using the undersize shocks he’d suggested replacing on that gen.

It snapped my rooftop tent bolts off too, which then caused the tent to smack around and bend the bed rack :/

I was fuckin’ gettin’ it, basically

Pretty sure that's a failure of the KB Voodoo rack, and not the tent mounting bolts.

Holy shit. Must have been one hell of a ride. And a terrible ride back home if you didn't get it towed lol

Oh the rack is fucked - but - the little bolts that hold the tent to the tent’s own bars snapped - allowing that weight to put enough force on the bed rail to bend it. At least that’s what i’m assuming - pretty small bolts on this smittybilt. Chicken or egg situation

Thankfully i noticed the tent trying to fly away right next to the one road it intersects with for a while. Honestly i didn’t notice it being any bouncier until i was in Vegas

I had heard what was apparently the tent and or shock making noise, but just assumed it was my cooler or tools bouncing around

I’ve rallied this truck harder - but, not with this much load, heat, and duration

Oh shit. For all of those who are anti spacer lifts I guess you have another pic to copy and paste on every thread

(I know he's got a Dakar pack. I'm being sarcastic)

Guess it’s time to invest in some real shocks and a real rack that can handle the lateral.

I guess. Went with the KB because it was the only one that let me keep the tonneau, and i don’t want all my stuff stolen when i go through chicago/NY/New Orleans/etc

Plus i paid good money for that factory tonneau that i didn’t want!

And, vertical pounding in this case. No axle-twisting this time around

As expected they would not warranty it. Perfect excuse to lift it!

    1. Go slower or
    2. Buy a vehicle built for it. Trophy truck maybe.
