Went from 17" rims to 18" and get 10% worse MPG

    The 285/65's will be a bit heavier than the 285/60, but the 285's have a large contact patch than the 265's, which leads to greater rolling resistance and worse mpg.

    Did you happen to lift the truck also? That makes the truck less aerodynamic (albeit not by much) and also cuts mpgs a little.

    Same boat here, I have never got 300 miles to a tank, so even with the 285's, that doesn't sound bad at all.
