Bought the Tacoma new and the Power Wagon new. MSRP on the ram 57+ and paid 49. Tacoma was around 34.5 if I remember correctly plus all the mods. Now add the cost to bring the Tacoma near the features on a stock PW and your damn near the 49k

Show me the $16,000+ builds. You're being a little dramatic. Some could agrue $5k+ dramatic.

he paid around $10k. And his build will out-wheel your PW any day of the week. Keep in mind to, that armor, gears, winch, and suspension (better than whats on the PW) will likely me MUCH cheaper than this build. He went balls-out.

To each their own but I don’t care if that truck could out wheel mine. We aren’t talking about a crawler. I hope he is happy with his truck but I wouldn’t be. I knew what works for my situation and that’s why I abandoned the Tacoma before dumping more money into it

One thing is for sure, he can't tow what you can! And he can't fit what you can on the inside. So definitely to each their own on what one considers "more truck".

I spent a year trying to fall in love with the 3rd gen but I just couldn’t. It’s an awesome truck but I just couldn’t justify what it would take to build how I wanted and have it still be lacking in critical areas

I do wish they offered a manual. My '94 was a 5 speed and I loved it.

Good call getting out of it then. I'm almost at the point where I need a full size to. Between the gear, fur babies, humans, and a short bed, 15 mpg loaded, I'm almost at my limit. Unfortunately the trails here in the Rockies and campsites I enjoy, aren't to friendly on full-sizers. I will be into a full size once I'm ready to say "fuck it" and park on a slab to camp.

    So far what I've learned..

    T4R don't have beds
    Power Wagons are expensive
Tacoma's are good for hauling dog food
People actually remember shit I've posted

Is there any reason specifically you went for the PW over a F-150? Obviously a little more robust in the 4x4 department.

They are much bigger but you can still do a lot of stuff with them. Really the size is the only drawback and a built Tacoma loaded for a trip probably gets the same if not worse mileage

PW gets like 11 unloaded? Maybe I'm exagorating correct me if I'm wrong. Built Tacomas could see that I guess but the power wouldn't even be close.

Since we are no longer talking about 4Rs....

Fuck the trails, I can't fit a full size in my garage. Biggest drawback to me.

I like everything about the truck better except the MPG. It’s just a badass truck straight from the factory

Some are reporting about 16 highway if you keep it around 65 but seems the average combined is about 14 and down to 12 depending on load and driving habits
