    Dear Tacomaworld,
Yes, I made it back, even without crawl control or locker. Amazing huh? My hood scoop didn't block my vision so bad that I ran over something. The glare was a non event as I was deep in the valley next to a river. Yes, I did have to put it in 4WD when it got a bit rough but, happy days, my Sport's firm shocks did not blow nor did they bounce me into the ceiling.
I thought I would need multi terrain select for a minute when I transitioned from mud to hardpack but whew, thank goodness I made it with just using my foot for throttle control.
When I got to the rocky section I evaluated the risks of bending a rim, seeing as how I have 17" rims instead of the coveted 16" wheels that would give me a whole half inch of extra sidewall. I made it through the rocky section unscathed though. The off road Gods must have been watching out for me.
All in all it was a fun spring day. Just glad that I had the courage to take my Sport off road, knowing that all the TRD OR owners on Tacoma World have repeatedly warned me against doing something so foolish.
    Thanks again,
    Greg

    P.S.
I did see a TRD OR today... it was sitting in the paved parking lot near the trail head. It looked good though!

    Glad you survived! :D

I know a lot of sport owners that go offroading and 2wd guys too.

It's more about making good decisions and knowing your own limits.

    Impossible.

    Pics or it didn’t happen.

Everyone one here knows Sports can’t go off pavement. The hood scope alone makes it functionally impossible.

Well, if your 91 year old father in-law will vouch for you, I for one will be good with that.

But seriously, why wasn't he taking pictures of this epic event?

    Does he even Facebook?

Also, glad you managed to pull off this feat without having to be towed by an FJ......

He had a blast. Beautiful spring day to get him out of the house. He wanted to go to a place down next to the river he used to go to as a kid. To say it was not a road anymore is an understatement:eek: but it was a good time for us. Just glad I can still get him out every now and then.

I had a 15 sport that tore up the 4 wheel drive trails. Last place I was at it was going places that lifted Jeeps were. Honestly I don't think you're going to notice much difference.

Does anyone know why the sport and off road are sold at the same price.
One of the reasons I bought my sport 4x4 was because it was only $33k which was $3.5k less than the OR models on the lot.
