No need, I believe you. I was just meaning that I guess some have it - some don't.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
so far mine does not, the exhaust is mud rusted already however

I'll have to take another look at my undercarriage. Working on 14k now, but last checked it at 12k and no rust issues other than very minor/normal rust around the leafs/axle housing portion. At least no rust on the welds either. But it does seem to be a hit or miss situation...hence the few people who have made other threads with frames reminiscent of the 1st gen situation.

Would be curious if the production plant had to do with which ones are experiencing surface rust...?

I was going to do it anyway. More of a Redneck truck sitting in the front yard on blocks with no wheels type thread. I live in a pretty nice neighborhood so I was just wanting to fuck with the POA for a few hours.:D

2009 with 60000 on it everything is rusted i had it undercoated when it had 500 miles on it. i wash the shit out of it in the winter but the f-ing salt they use here in upstate NY is a killer. i'd post pictures but it makes me sick. I sanded everything i could and used rust converter spray paint and painted everything I could we'll see how that works out. On a side note if you live where its salty drop your front skid and clean everything out on the frame i had a hell of a time getting the bolts out. This was the worst area on my truck

    Yeah, I hear you there.
I was seriously considering a set for myself, but they're just so damn SCARY in the wet, heavy snow we get in New England that I oped for something with more siping and went with Duratracs. So far I'm happy, but they don't look as cool as the Fierce's would have...

You know, We went to Colorado back in March and I never had any trouble getting around. Granted it is probably a much different type of snow that you guys get up north east. I never even put my cables on out there and mine is a PreRunner. When we get snow here it generally is ice. With ice it really doesn't matter what you have underneath the truck this side of tank tracks.;)

Now... the dumb part of this whole deal is I will never use them for what they are designed to be used for (this side of very light trails to launch my Kayaks). My truck is a pavement princess and I'll be the first to admit I'm a poser. But your right... They look cool as shit! :D

Damnit... No redneck picture today. It's raining most of the day. I would do it in my garage but that would take the fun out of it ;)

Dunno about CO; never driven in their snow.
I had a set of Fierce's on a Nissan Hardbody a while back; they were awesome in deep snow (I could plow through stuff so deep it was rolling back over the hood), but for on-road snowy driving they were downright alarming.
Even with weight in the back, the tail end always wanted to see what was ahead.
Now, a '10 Tacoma AC 4x4 probably weighs 1000lbs more than a '94 Nissan, so they might have been totally differently behaved on my new truck. But I wasn't willing to take the chance.

I have a 2013 and the under body was spray coated with what looks like black tar.

That being said, has anyone gone to the dealership and asked what they are willing to do on a preventative basis given the common rust problems?

We got lucky and didn't really have much snow this last year so I never got to test them out. I'll definitely take your word for it though. I've got a set of Thule Traction Cables just in case. Hopefully that will help.

I just pressure washed the frame today getting ready to do the FF thing this year last years FF was still under the dirt the water beaded up like I had waxed the frame. Yes there are spots on the welds they were there the day I bought it they have not changed one bit FF will stop rust it will not cure it.
