So, after three years thought I might buy a new truck and since there are some things I don't like about the Tacoma I thought I would test drive a 2013 Fronty long bed. Had made arrangements with the saleman to keep it all day. While he was doing his paperwork I started checking out the truck...no sliding rear window, no storage behind the seats, armrest in the wrong location. It just didn't feel right. I like my Taco alot, so the Fronty would have to blow me away to get me to switch and it didn't. Didn't even drive it because of all the previous mentioned items. i have decided to wait on the third generation Taco.

I did like the 18" wheels on the Fronty so I ordered a set to 18" Limited Edition Tacoma wheels to replace my 16".

A guy at my work has a newer frontier and I have driven it and while it may have more bells and whistles it's no tacoma.

I chose a 31k mile used Tacoma over a new Frontier. Make of that what you will.

I was thisclose to a frontier. The price of the PRO-4X luxury was the same price as my Sport package and came with a lot more stuff (heated leather, Nav, sunroof) but the reputation and resale value of the Tacoma was too much to give up on.

^^this. Same w/me. Why wait for better when the best available is here now. I hope VW/Nissan/GM up their game in the midsize truck segment, but to be honest, I just want them to push Toyota to continue to innovate and improve what I really think has been the best truck on the market for a long time. I don't have any complaints though except the mpg could be better I think.

Don't know how the interior looks, but every Frontier I've seen has been ugly. Don't care for the Titan (or any other Nissan trucks for that matter) either.....

only complete redesigns are classified as generations. 2012 only brought a model refresh.

Too bad things like headlights, satoshi grill, lighted 4x4 switches and other popular mods/aftermarket items haven't been made yet for the '12-13's..

Frontier: 0.0% interest; 14 mpg city; more horse power.
Tacoma: 1.9% interest; 16 mpg city; less horse power.

I chose tacoma. Don't know why.

Father in Law has a newish Frontier...he's let me borrow it for job interviews up on his area...not a fan at all. He got the base model, so the interior has nothin in it...but still...seat didn't back up enough for me...driving just seemed weird compared to my Tacoma...

A buddy of mine as a Nismo Fronty and I really like it. I was about to test drive a sparkling new PRO4X until it sold the day before I got to the dealership, but I had always preferred the Tacoma.

I like the Fontiers but I'm glad I found my Taco.

Resale value is meaningless for someone who wants to keep their car/truck until it falls apart.

So which do you think will fall apart first?

Might as well trade your truck in for a Frontier then if they are so awesome.

I seriously looked at the frontier as an option. I was looking used so the lower resale value was actually a plus. Looked into the aftermarket for suspension stuff because I didn't want another vehicle with no, or little, aftermarket support. It has a pretty good aftermarket and long travel arms on it are as easy as getting some off a Titian since they share frame and the Titan arms are longer. So it has it's pluses. Unfortunately I need a back seat kids can ride comfortably in, I took one look at the bolt upright rear seat and walked away. Shame, they did such an awsome job on the titan interior, wouldn't have taken but an inch more cab and a bit of seat lean to make it viable for me.
