I'm amazed it's lasted as long as it has.

I really hope that gasoline engines will be around, at least until the death of me. I enjoy huffing at the pump.

 

How about a small gas/diesel engine electric generator to power 4 electric motors at the wheels......like a modern train hauling hundreds of thousands of pounds?

 

I think the generator would need to be like 20,000W+ for it to work , which would make it super heavy and or inefficient.

 

You should see me when I’m driving and see a rockin set of hooters.

Aren’t they the ones that use grass and dirt for their roofs?

 

Gas used to smell better in the 70’s.

 

Another activity that autonomous vehicles will enable comes to mind...lol

LOL I cant wait to see the tires that are capable of sustaining the type of EV performance figures that get quoted in their puff-pieces.
Im sure this 1000hp 11,500ft lbs tq. EV-Hummer that does 0-60 in 3.1 seconds weighing in at ~4 tons or whatever an EV of that size weighs would need tires that cost as much as a used car. That is, if they even exist at this point.
Tires are going to be real-world limiting factor to all these theoretical EV's bench racing stats.

 

Damn they really dropped the ball they should’ve had interchangeable fuel tanks all these years
