    How about a small gas/diesel engine electric generator to power 4 electric motors at the wheels......like a modern train hauling hundreds of thousands of pounds?

    I think the generator would need to be like 20,000W+ for it to work , which would make it super heavy and or inefficient.

    LOL I cant wait to see the tires that are capable of sustaining the type of EV performance figures that get quoted in their puff-pieces.
    Im sure this 1000hp 11,500ft lbs tq. EV-Hummer that does 0-60 in 3.1 seconds weighing in at ~4 tons or whatever an EV of that size weighs would need tires that cost as much as a used car. That is, if they even exist at this point.
    Tires are going to be real-world limiting factor to all these theoretical EV's bench racing stats.
