Shouldn't this thread have an up-front disclaimer like Street Outlaws or something? Please don't try this at home, etc? Trained professionals, willing to take huge losses etc? Just the other day there was a thread about a guy who got swamped and lost his hat on a Cybertruck. The depreciation dropped like a rock.

The MPG will be pretty close. If you drive the Ranger like Mario Andretti then it's going to be shit. To be honest I have not got my quote back from my insurance agent. Emailed her today. I am expecting it to go up, and hopefully not a lot.

Not worried about that!! Don't think I will be underwater on the Raptor. Cybertruck? What kind of POS is that? LOL

It was an already selling truck in Australia. They just brought it back and made a few changes to make it sellable in the US.. Like taking out the diesel and putting in the 2.3 4 cylinder eco boost. A few other facelift items (lots of chrome and silver interior ROFL). I went down the route of buying a 2020 lariat and I got rid of it when it sprung a massive water leak in the left side floor boards. If you search on the ranger forums about it you’ll find my post and others with the issues I went through lol. Great engine, definitely more robust than the Tacoma v6 3.5 I’d say. I drove both at the same time almost (my buddies 16’ taco v6 and my ranger at the time). Longevity isn’t really there yet as much. I feel like less of these trucks will make it past the “finish line”. Because they are massive in curb weight numbers and times the small 2.3 engine will equal less miles than a naturally aspirated motor. I feel like piston slap will be the new common thing on these smaller engines, unless maintained to the nail.

Congrats OP. I really, really liked the Lariat with the 2.7 I test drove around christmas. It smoked the 4th gen and most of the midsize competition. I ended up getting a Tundra, so I left the class altogether, but the new Ranger is nice, Ranger Raptor is hard to beat in its segment IMO.

I like the refresh on the 6G Rangers, I liked the 5G Ranger styling far from being the best looking truck design I have ever seen. I really liked the 5G Ranger Raptor design I thought it was very cohesive and worked with the 5G front end. I have never seen a 5G RR in person, but I like it over the 6G RR design. Only slightly, and I think the 6G RR is a good looking truck. Ford did a good job with the 5G RR, but it wasn't sold here so what's it matter? I prefer the 23 to 24 F-150 Raptor front end as well and still like the 13G Raptor over that.

Almost forgot, I can't see the turbo 4s on the road 20 years from now like the old Rangers that haven't rusted away are still on the road at the cost of keeping them running. It's like compaing a 4G Tacoma to a 1st gen or Pickup, they are worlds apart.

I think it was last week and it had to be a very late Mazda B truck regular cab 4x4 on the road. The thing looked almost new.

Just the opposite here. Dealer only got one in stock & I wasn’t about to get into a bidding war. Test drove it & not gonna lie, it was nice but not that nice. Liked my ‘06 a lot but this was definitely better.

I've had the tune installed on mine since end of Nov. 405/430 was already pretty stout, so 455/536 isn't a massive boost, but it's very noticeable and everything else adds up to a very worthwhile mod. Been looking at the COBB intercooler.

    - Power always feels immediately available, less turbo lag, smoother power delivery. Coming from stop or slow roll, I'd sometimes get lag followed by a heavy jolt of power and it would startle me. Hasn't happened since.
    - Gear management and rev matching logic is absolutely spot on. All signs of occasional jerky up/downshift in Sport mode are gone.
    - Exhaust note seems to purr more. When I first brought it home, wife got confused thinking I was in the 911.
    - High RPMs just feels so much smoother like it isn't even high RPM
    - Cruising 70mph in 10th gear on the freeway, it was easy to give it light gas and get above 80 without downshifting
