Went up one size tire and that caused passengers side clearance to be different than drivers.

I was thinking that something happened that wasn’t fixed from accident, and I only noticed because of bigger tires.

    Thanks

Something that looked straight enough 1/4 inch off on the inside could lead to a 2.5 inch difference on the outside.
Edit if the tire was further out, axle being longer, then it would probably be 3 inches or more the longer it extends out ward the more it goes backward instead of straight.

I think the alignment numbers are excellent, especially for a Toyota dealer

That’s what today’s alignment was supposed to sort out. How am I supposed to trust their work, when I didn’t get but 2 miles away from body shop, before I knew the wheel was fucked up. But yet they still questioned me at first, then finally agreed something was wrong. I am not a mechanic, so I can only hope for trustworthy people to deal with.

So what do you think is causing the 1/2 inch difference now?

Ya, I wonder if I should treat the service advisors kid (he attends my school), like they treated me at the dealership?

No son, 1 plus 1 equals 11. Yes I am just prepping you for a job at the dealership.

those numbers are pretty much right on, if the accident damage was in the front end maybe something got pushed in and they let it slide or didn't realize it hard to tell, but ur not going to get better numbers than that

I did stop by the guy who mounted and installed the tires, he said maybe get some new control arms so there is more adjustments to be made, he also questioned if the frame was straight.

and you still got the rub, that's a tough call what u could do except have a body shop examine the frame/undercarriage for in discrepincies

Sounds like the repairs weren't the best. But wait. You paid for a service of air and cabin filter and almost paid for spark plugs?! And then a diff fluid change?

I removed the mud flap and that reduced the rub, I haven’t driven it enough to know if the alignment solved the rest.

I think at 31k miles spark plugs are due at 30k miles if they aren't the iridium from factory, air filter/cabin filter I guess its due, differentials under severe duty I think are 30k miles

Yes, was going to do the 30k service, which was told included spark plugs. Which they changed and then said they were not due till 120k. So I got new? Plugs for free. Then after this, all of a sudden they need to do a diff fluid change. My guess is they were trying to off set the free spark plugs.

They wouldn’t change my oil at 5k intervals because it’s not severe use, but now it is severe useo_O

at 120k they must be iridiums, usually the 4 cylinders use iridiums only maybe they decided to use iridium plugs in the new 3.5l v6 either way free is a good thing

Same dealership, sales guys haven’t been there each time. In fact the one I used to get my 2017, was gone by Feb 2018, just 8 months after I had bought my truck, and he was new then.

Edit: ordered truck August of 16, by Feb 17, sales guy gone.

yeah it sounds like they are looking to make a few extra dollars here and there, if its not severe duty the diffs and auto trans should be due at 60k miles I think, u have to look at the maintainence schedule in the owners manual, I do the severe duty on my truck but I do the work myself and buy the parts im way over warranty
