Thanks for explaining the emo kid thing...I had no idea wtf you guys were talking about either. I didn't now there was actually a name for those weirdos.

I remember back when you could get a four finger bag for $10 and a pound went for around $120. :rasta:

As far as the businessmen making everything cheaper now days and screwing the consumer, don't forget that the money it takes to line their greedy ass pockets and give themselves multi-million dollar bonuses has to come from somewhere.

Dude, everything is getting smaller for the same price. Have you seen how small cereal boxes have gotten? Little Debbie snacks? Frozen pizza? Punishable by death, imo.

Credit card interest rates: I'm sure that most of us have recently been informed by our credit card co's that "tough market conditions" have forced them into RAISING their interest rates. So, in my case, a visa card holder with a credit union for over 35 years, no late payments ever, never exceed 1/3 of my available credit etc...my interest rate has increased nearly 9%. Now why should I have to pay for the screw-ups of others?

Why should we pay for the poor lending practices of credit card co's?

Good thread Janster. I think the real problem is you are not normal. Now do not get mad, let me explain.............

You actually understand the difference between price and value. The majority of people I run into are all about what they can get for the cheapest price. This is usually done without any thought (at first) for quality. They shop around to find the place selling a product for the lowest price. This takes sales from companies that actually used to supply a quality product. They now are not selling as many and are losing market share. Since the consumer (I use that word intentionally as opposed to client or customer because all they do is consume) has spoken, companies change to offer what the consumer is willing to pay for. Then when the quality causes complaints, there is nowhere left to turn.

Every time we open our wallets or purse, we are voting for the kind of world we want. If we reward only the lowest price and not the quality and service, we have no right to rant when we can no longer find them.

So my rant about getting rooked? Where have all the people gone that actually liked to buy quality and service? Remember those days? We blame it on corporations and that may be partly true. However, they make money when WE buy the products. If we were not buying, they would not be in control.

None yet......trying to figure out where to start ;)
Alright, not sure if anyone's heard of it... but..

Rosa's Cafe!!!! It's a fast food Mexican food place. They're mostly in Texas, but there are a few here and there. They use to be CHEAP!! Like.... 3-4 burritos, a drink, a dozen tortillas, and sone queso... like $10, max. And their burritos were HUGE. Now... the prices are doubled, and the burritos are the size of little egg rolls :(

Didn't mean to get off the heated "Levi's" discussion... lol

    Edit: fuck emo kids

The fact that almost everything is made overseas now by the lowest bidder in order to meet wal-mart's price point is pretty much at the root of all this.
