if you look close enought the larger pad is actually contacting the trucks frame rails, yes the rubber blocks are contacting the pinch wells but the rub blocks dont appear to be to actaully be supporting that much weight there not squished at all. the mechanic may have just put them there to cover his ass if the truck was to shift on the lift. im not saying i would lift a truck on that style lift im just calling what i see

i used to work at a discount tire and no they aren't doing it correctly if they can lift it by the frame with the lift. If not we were supposed to use a flat bay and jacks. But on car and vans we would use the rubber blocks on the pinch welds like they seemed to have done. Shouldn't hurt it but it wasn't correct.

Looks like the frame is raised in the front by those blocks due to the gap - you can see the other tire. The rear seems to be resting on the frame and not on the blocks. I'd totally ask for a discount on ... anything.

They should have put the blocks under the frame to that it was level front and back and not resting on the front crossmember. There are dumbasses no matter where you go just depends on the peoples attitudes that are working if they care or not. I personally saw someone jack up a superduty by the oil pan :smack: and it was one of our newer managers.

They did have a jack, it was propping up the rear axle and the jack was located under the rear differential.

And that's what i'm saying, why would the blocks be needed? Lifting the frame it's self would be better, and safer wouldn't it?

    Cool.

I'm not like extremely mad at them for this, we're all human and we all make mistakes...if I do see it again, then I will have a word with them because I know it's no good for the cab mounts.

just because they are "nice" people, doesn't mean they are smart. take the truck elsewhere next time, where they have a real lift.
