My truck will clank when going over similar things while coasting (clutch in). Not really noticeable with any torque on the drivetrain. I'm thinking it's the driveshaft/u joints that make that sound in my case. I also get the leaf squeak after a trip off road. A good wash and a quick shot of rust check (fluid film) cures it until the next adventure. I know they "shouldn't" make noise, but it is an easy fix.

Are you talking about the driveline vibe when slowing down (25mph ish)?

Yes. They were "positive" they fixed it, didn't bother to test drive it though :D

I had a 99 gmc sonoma 4x4 with squeaky leafs and front control arms that constantly made noise and had to constantly spray them with PB blaster, but I understand smitty, so far no squeaks on my sr5 and now has almost 16k on it..will be interested to see what happens long term..

Reviving an old post, My 2016 TRD OR has started squeaking like crazy. Going over bumps, coming to a stop, or just getting out of the truck sounds like I’m driving a rusted up beater. Did anybody end up getting any answers for their problems or has Toyota finally “investigated” and come up with a TSB for the problem?

    Thanks in advance

Toyota issued a TSB that replaces the leaf silencers with a new style. Ask your dealer about it.
