Wes Siler is an idiot, and not because of this article!

I asked a simple question to Mr Siler asking about an awning he was running on his Ranger from a post and walkthrough video he did in October, he shared some opinions and apparently my Tacoma drives like a Tuk Tuk .
I understand his stance that more consideration needs to be taken into GVWR and I am trying to be more conscious of it myself but the fact is, he has a belief, and a pen, with an audience so good on him.

I find it funny this thread is allowed to continue [it breaks a bunch of the ‘code of conduct’ rules the mods made up] but a dude who wants to promote his channel [and talk to the TW community for ideas] about living out of his truck is deleted [twice] because it breaks these said rules.

I wonder which thread would have actually been better.

Although the TFL link is a sham, as those dorks are bunk science, the article is correct that weight and big tires is a challenge for Tacomas.

If you could magically feel what it’s like to drive your truck around for an hour or two, with zero weight from mods, and 30” passenger tires, you might be surprised at how much better the truck performs. I’d love to be able to compare back and forth on the fly.

I’ve only done some medium-level mods and I know the truck isn’t as powerful as it once was.

Wait. Was this the kid who lived in NC and quit his job and was going to travel across the country and live out of his Tacoma? That got forum got deleted? I have to admit I am not that familiar with the Code of Conduct. My view is just be polite and be helpful and you won't get in trouble. I just went to find that thread and I think you are right -- it may be gone. It also may be that I just can't find it.

If it did get canceled, I am sure there was a reason ... but that is a bummer nonetheless ... I was looking forward to seeing how it went for the kid. And a bunch of people offered him some good advice, such as shorter the videos, etc. I think it was called Living in My Tacoma or something like that.

I can't seem to find it on YouTube ... but I do wish the kid well !

Yup. They deleted two of his threads because all he did was try to get his youtube channel off the ground through the community [link to a channel]. He even wanted suggestions as to what he should do next. Members offered to have a meet-up with him if he was in their area.
Some people in the second thread even suggested that there could be a sub-forum that allows exemptions to this rule, with approval from the mods.

Instead we get this... people trying to get their post count up and offering absolutely nothing worthwhile, calling names, and bashing other people.
The first post in this wasteland thread is a link.. to another site.. to a non member.. and then a bunch of name calling.
It survives 9 pages thus far. *shrug*
